Lakes Distillery Whisky
The Lakes Distillery in Bassenthwaite is renowned for its quality whiskies, created using the cool, unique water found in the national park. The experienced team at the distillery is dedicated to taking their time in order to bring out the most delicious flavours and fullest mouthfeels.
Our collection of Lakes Distillery whisky ranges from the signature Whiskymaker’s Reserve – a sherry-led house style – to The Private Reserve, a limited edition that uses some of the first single malt produced by the distillery. Stocking a number of limited flavours that are no longer produced, we are delighted to offer you a selection of hard-to-find whiskies from this iconic Lake District brand.
Blending whisky at the Lakes Distillery
The Lakes Distillery started life as a series of derelict Victorian farm buildings, including a barn that now houses the important stills. When founder Paul Currie found it, he knew that he had discovered a home for his exciting new venture. After careful renovation – which managed to retain the original quatrefoil features, a symbol still seen on today’s bottles – the whiskymaking process began.
Today, The Whiskymaker’s Reserve is a series of delicious Lakes Distillery whisky that tracks their journey from the beginning to the present day, with rich and full flavours matured in the finest Oloroso, PX and red wine casks.
Blended and single malt whiskies
We have a selection of both blended and single malt whiskies, all made with love and passion at the Lakes Distillery. Each has its own unique and seductive flavour profile, so it’s only a matter of slowly and carefully enjoying each bottle until you find the one that resonates best with you.
