Kandy Kitchen Creations
Delicious, easy-to-make meals from natural products are on offer from Kandy Kitchen. And all of this tied up into an attractive package, with ingredients layered in a colourful pattern.
Inspiration from across the pond
Kandy Kitchen creators Karen and Andy Turner were inspired on a visit to friends in Canada in 2017. Staying in a rural farming community, they attended plenty of craft fairs and farmers’ markets where local producers would combine their home-grown ingredients. What caught their eye was the way these ingredients were layered, much like a sand art picture. Having never seen anything like that in the UK, once they returned home, they set about finding natural ingredients that they could bring together into tasty meals. Their first creations were hand-made on their kitchen table and sold at their own local markets, where they received rave feedback.
The result is a wide selection of healthy family meals that are easy to make and look beautiful. Soups, stews and risottos make up the bulk of their produce, but you’ll also find some sweet treats for desert, too.
Up against dragons
If you’re a fan of Dragon’s Den, then Kandy Kitchen Creations may already be familiar to you. The food tubes business was pitched for investment on the popular BBC programme (Season 19, Episode 3) where the likes of Touker Suleyman were impressed by the flavours and the simplicity. Karen and Andy came away having been offered deals by three Dragons.
Awards for Kandy Kitchen Creations
Not only have these little food packages come away with investment from some of the most intimidating people on TV, they have a rack of awards and nominations, too. In their hometown they’ve won two awards at the Rochdale Business Awards and were also finalists in the 2023 Federation of Small Businesses Awards.
Now all that remains is for you to pick your Kandy Kitchen creation and see for yourself!
