Description
This marvellous expression from Islay’s Bowmore Distillery introduces a French twist to the single malt Scotch whisky. It’s a 21 year whisky which has been fully matured in French oak barriques from Château Lagrange, which is a fabulous Grand Cru Classé winery in Bordeaux. The balance between the bright, bold, fruity notes from the cask alongside the characteristic coastal elements from Bowmore’s whisky makes for a brilliant flavour profile. Immensely impressive.
Tasting Notes
Nose Honey, brown sugar, sea shells, chocolatey oak, strawberry and raisin.
Palate Blackcurrant and plum as it opens up, leading into coffee and sea breeze. A touch of old mahogany lingers.
Finish The chocolatey notes stick around for a good long time on the finish.
