Aluna Coconut Rum

An award-winning blend of rums from Guatemala and the Caribbean with all-natural toasted coconut and pure, sustainably sourced coconut water. This Guatemalan rum is made with first press sugar cane fermented with yeast from the pineapple plant. This creates a light, floral and smooth rum with a natural subtle sweetness to which they add selected classic, young Caribbean rums to give classic rum character and strength, creating an elegant, balanced blend.

They blend these rums with all-natural toasted coconut and pure, sustainably sourced coconut water which extends the fresh, coconut flavour and gives the rum a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel. The flavours are so good they make sure they don’t hide them behind the wall of sugar found in many other coconut rums.

Aluna Coconut Rum was conceived over a beach bbq after a day in the surf as the moon rose over the waves. A passionate conversation between three friends who loved great rums and fresh, natural ingredients but were tired of spirits that were too sweet, with their flavours hidden behind a wall of sugar.

First up was an all-natural toasted coconut rum, made with premium rums from Guatemala and the Caribbean with pure, sustainably sourced coconut water for a fresh coconut dimension and a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel. Awards, high fives and many good times followed and they knew they were doing the right thing.

Some time later they released their second product, a coffee liqueur made with the same mindful approach to sugar, made using their toasted coconut rum and multi-layered flavours of 100% Arabica cold brew coffee, cacao nibs and subtle black cardamon. Great on its own, in an espresso martini or try it over ice cream.

In 2021 after month of experimenting they released their Peach & Pomelo liqueur, blending their rum with white peach, sweetened with coconut blossom nectar and balanced with the gentle citrus of pomelo, the favourtie fruit of the Moon Goddess.

Whar’s next? They’ve got a lot of ideas and although they can’t share them just yet they can guarantee they will be made with all-natural ingredients, won’t be dominated by sugar and you can be sure they will taste awesome.
